Deploying AI-built apps: the launch learning path

Move from an editor preview to a real release with domain, HTML, access-control, backup, and monitoring checks.

Answer in brief

A successful deployment is one checkpoint. A usable release also needs verified routes, the correct backend, HTTPS, and a person who can recover it.

01

Review the version people will actually use

A development preview and production can use different credentials, data, and build behavior. Before release, identify the exact deployment and backend target. For a content site, inspect direct requests to its pages without JavaScript. For an application, use controlled accounts to test the actual deployed permissions and stored results.

The production guide covers typechecks, browser checks, metadata, domains, secrets, and rollback. Domain setup is only part of that process. HTTPS and a working homepage do not establish that deep links, data access, or customer notifications behave correctly.

02

Release with a recovery path

Keep a known working version and understand how to return to it. A code rollback may leave a database change or an external side effect in place. Prefer compatible changes when users already depend on the app, and test recovery on non-production data first. Document the owner of the domain, deployment, database, and integrations.

After launch, inspect failed requests and error logs as well as the user journey. For a reference site, maintain source links and correct stale claims. Search indexing and AI citations are external outcomes, not guarantees provided by an exact-match domain or a deployment platform.
